“I’ll be right back but till then miss me.” He tapped on her head,
smiled and walked towards the lift.
Samedha smiled back and said “Well I’ll do that Sid, but you don’t
miss your wallet, or else………” Both started laughing.
Fifteen minutes later, Siddharth came back. This time he was looking even more handsome with his short hair gelled stylishly.
He had now worn light saffron colored T-shirt, blue jeans and a jacket. Then
both of them walked towards the exit of the lodge.
Standing on the road Siddharth asked “Hey it’s drizzling. Is there
any restaurant near by?”
“Hmm… I have never come to this part of the city. But don’t worry
Sid. I’ll not let you run into trouble. Now tell me how your journey
was?” Samedha asked curiously.
“Well. Journey was boring. There was nothing much to do. I just
spent my time listening to music and sleeping.”
“Oops…… not a single hot chick spoke to you?” she gave him a
flirty smile.
“Sam, just shut up. You really never ever leave a single chance to
pull my leg! You know what, I was thinking about you most of the time”. Samedha
blushed a little because of Siddharth’s candid confession.
Both crossed the walk over bridge and got into a restaurant. There
was not much crowd as it was a rainy Sunday morning. The waiter came with the
menu card in his hand and handed one to both of them. He served them water and
left only to reappear to take the order.
Two minutes later Siddharth said “Hey I am going to order Masala
dosa. What about you? Do you want some coffee or tea? It’s really chilling out
here”
“Hmmm…what I want to eat... some noodles… And I don’t want any
coffee or tea but if you feel like, you order that.”
Siddharth gave her a smile. “Sam, you took so much time to decide
on what you want to have for breakfast!”
“Well, I was making my mind to eat either Masala dosa or some hot
noodles. You have ordered Dosa, anyways so I chose Noodles. I will get my
share of Dosa from you.” she said in a whisker.
He smiled at her childish nature. “So, tell me, what is it?”
Siddharth asked casually despite being fully aware of the facts why on a Sunday
morning he is with Samedha. May be he wanted to reaffirm on the lines he was
thinking. May be he just wanted to check what at all going on in her mind.
Samedha gave a hearty laugh. She usually does that to buy some
time, so that she can think of a befitting reply when she is unsure about any
situation or question. “Well, everything is good. Lazy laid back Sunday morning
and here I am having breakfast with a handsome guy whom I am meeting for the
first time.” she finished the long sentence.
But what was she supposed to talk???
Samedha wanted to talk her heart out
but perhaps she had no idea where to start from. Whether she should turn
nostalgic and plunge within the beautiful moments they had spent together
online or should she talk about how and why they were so close to each other?
In few days of online chatting, they were drawn towards each other like magnet
and metal.
The Sound of cutlery broke Siddharth’s contemplation. The waiter
was standing by with their breakfast. The food was served.
“Wow…It looks great Sam, I am sure it tastes great as well”.
“Where are the noodles???”
“Madamji, noodles aaj nahi bana hai, toh aap kuchh aur le lijiye.”
“Oops………Thik hai, aap humare liye ek juice le aayiye.”
“Kounsa Juice Madamji?”
“Hmmmm……….Mango Juice?”
“Theek hai Madamji.”
Siddharth added “Hey, one more for me too and you cancel the
Coffee.”.
“Thik hai Sirji.” The waiter walked away.
Raising her eyebrows slightly and still smiling, Samedha asked
“Sid, tell me, how you are feeling at this moment meeting me in real? Am I the
same girl as I was through out in my emails, messages and over the phone?”
Siddharth looked deep into her eyes for a long moment and replied
“Yes you are very much the same as you were through out till now and the same
girl I have been dreaming about”
His answer didn’t satisfy her so she cleverly avoided the topic
saying “Let’s get started Sid. I am starving”.
The Masala Dosa grew smaller, the Sambar bowl grew emptier and the
juice level in the glasses also dropped to almost empty. There was an unusual
silence at the table. It was not that both of them were enjoying the breakfast
but perhaps they were wondering who should open the Pandora’s Box first.
- to be continued...
PS: Sometimes its just too difficult to express our inner feelings. Why it is so??? Is that because we are confused about our own feelings or just don't have enough guts for a face off. Why this Kolaveri di Guys...?
Impressive as always
